CALGARY CJAY 92 FM WINNER:  The Otherside “Going Blind”

The Otherside

The Otherside

BIO

Formed in late 2007, Calgary, Alberta’s The Otherside, exhibits a collaborative musical style that produces a sound that is hard-hitting and energetic. While aspects of the band have been influenced by genres such as metal, blues, and punk to name a few, the sound can only be described as rock.

Led by vocalist, Dan Lefebvre, The Otherside’s music is definitely diverse, which can be heard when listening to high-energy songs such as “Going Blind” and “Evil Woman” and softer pieces like “I Won’t Say Goodbye”.  With the unique balance of songs that the band produces, it’s easy to say that their music would appeal to rock fans and non-rock fans alike.  Guitarist Mat Trickey, guitarist Eric Campbell, bassist Graeme Campbell, and drummer Dan Clayholt complete this dynamic quintet who is set on making a lasting impression on both the Canadian music industry and music fans alike.

Most recently, The Otherside returned to work with Jeff Muller at Alchemy Studio to record more original material for the completion of their debut album Spiral, which is bound to hit eager listeners hard in 2010.  With their album Spiral to be released soon, The Otherside is anticipating a busy year ahead of them with shows and tours to promote the album and do what they do best: Fuel the world with energetic rock and roll!

WINNING SONG LYRICS
Going Blind

© 2009  The Otherside

Looking at the world
With innocent eyes all teary
Staring at the sun
Thinking of all that could be

Runnin’ with the wind
You’re screaming at me
Why am I filled with fear?
As I run away from you

Chorus
Running away, running away – I can’t hide
Running away, running away – I think I’m going blind
Running away, running away – I can’t hide
Running away, running away – I think I’m going blind

I try to improve
I can’t relieve my sadness
You’re stuck in my mind
I succumb to your attraction

I try to understand
This illusion in my head
But I feel something more
And I fear our destined end

Chorus

We should be as one
My friends tell me otherwise
I saw the signs
Right in front of me, plain as day

I’ve had enough
Loneliness, I fear no more
I must escape this addiction
I must escape this hell

Chorus
